This New Zealander owned and operated Hostel in the heart of the former East Berlin district Friedrichshain, will directly connect YOU to the nightlife, culture and history of this exciting city, Berlin.

Our friendly staff will supply you with everything you need for your stay in Berlin, free maps of the city, free walking tours, bike rental, and anything else you may need. Our staff are all locals so ask us where to eat and drink and party here in Friedrichshain, one of the most happening underground scenes in Berlin. However if relaxing is your priority, then spend the day relaxing in the many surrounding parks and spend the evening in the New Zealand Restaurant and bar on premises.

If it is culture you want to experience, the East Side Gallery (longest piece of Berlin Wall) is a 10 minute walk from our door, and Berlin highlights like the famous Museum Island, Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag are only 10 minutes by train.

All forms of public transport are easily accessible from our hostel, including Trams Underground (U Bahn) and overground (S Bahn). Plus it is simple to get here from the major train stations and airports.

Schlafmeile opened in 2005. We offer private apartments (sleeping 10), 4, 6 and 8 bed dorms. At the Schlafmeile we pride ourselves on our clean, friendly and comfortable Hostel here in the heart of Berlin. We are looking forward to seeing you soon here at the Schlafmeile, Berlin.

Cancellation policy

You must give us 24 hours notice of any change and/or cancellation of your booking, otherwise you will be charged for the first night of your stay and any remaining nights will be cancelled.

Schlafmeile Hostel Cheap and Inexpensive Place to Stay in Berlin Germany

No matter how you are arriving in Berlin, finding the Schlafmeile is simple. Check out our map that accompanies these directions in the photo section. 10 minutes from Ostbahnhof Train Station: Catch the 240 bus from Ostbahnhof station in the direction of "S Storkower Str". Get off the bus at the Boxhagenerstr/Holteistrasse stop. (The next stop is displayed on a screen in the bus). Turn left into Holteistrasse after a block, the street name will change to Weichselstrasse. You can find us, the Schlafmeile at number 25. From Schönefeld Airport: Catch the airport express from Schönefeld to Ostbahnhof. Then follow the directions above from Ostbahnhof. From Tegel Airport: Catch the Airport bus to Alexanderplatz. Take the U5 from Alexanderplatz, in the direction of Hönow, jump off at Frankfurter Allee and walk down Weichselstrasse, which comes off Frankfurter Allee (situated 55 meters from the U5 station Frankfurter Allee). We are located at number 25 Weichsel Strasse next to the New Zealand Restaurant where you can also check in. 10 minutes from Alexanderplatz: Take the U5 from Alexanderplatz, in the direction of Hönow, jump off at Frankfurter Allee and walk down Weichselstrasse, which comes off Frankfurter Allee(situated 55 meters from the U5 station Frankfurter Allee). We are located at number 25 Weichsel Strasse next to the New Zealand Restaurant, where you can also check in. Taxi: Taxis are available from all airports and major train stations. If you arrive via taxi, make sure that you ask for Weichselstrasse, Friedrichshain. NOT Neukölln.
