About This Hostel
Cobwobs Hostel
Cobwobs is a great hostel set in a quiet garden in a very rural community. The hostel is close to all the town facilities including shops bars and restaurants. The hostel is situated in the mountains of North Romania in the beautiful area of Maramures it is called cobwobs.
We are a no smoking in the hostel but guests can smoke on the verandas and in the garden if they are considerate of others feelings. We are very convenient for buss to all the local villages and sites of interest while the political prison museum is within easy walking distance.
We have a bar-b-Q area in the garden plus chairs for guests to relax in away from the summer sun. Besides the dorm bedrooms there is also a room for relaxation where guests can watch local and cable TV.

Facilities
There is also a kitchen people can use to prepare their own food or where we can provide breakfast and dinner on request. Most of the food we provide is based around local cuisine and comes from our own garden or the local market.
We have four shower rooms and four toilets plus a left luggage and amenities room. Within easy walking distance of the hostel are several local restaurants, clubs and bars which you will find very hospitable.
We have a reception open up to ten at night, an hour after the last train arrives in Sighetul which gives people a chance to reach us before we close. If you arrive after this you can always ring the bell and we will of course let you in.
We offer guided tours around Maramures, which is often the easiest way to reach some of the remote areas when you don't have a lot of time here to explore the area. We can also arrange trekking in the locality or in the Rodnei Mountains with a well-qualified local guide. There are also trips available to local sites of interest and information for those who wish to explore independently.

How to Get There
The hostel is centraly located in the middle of Sighetu Marmatiei in the county of Maramures. It is set in a large garden with bar-b-q area and space to take the sun or put up a tent. We have eighteen beds in three dorms plus two double bed rooms which can be addapted for families.
The hostel is opposite the Luk oil petrol station in the middle of town.From the railway station follow the road towards town until you get to the first set of traffic lights then turn right. After a half a klm you will find the entrance sign for the hostel.
