About This Hostel
Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel.
Welcome to Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel - Rwanda's First Youth Hostel – we are located in the Kacyiru area of Kigali - Rwanda's Capital City - just off the Boulevard de L'umuganda.
The Kacyiru area is populated by many of the Rwandan Government's Ministries, different hotels, banks, restaurants, clubs and is a quiet and secure area. The property has a large garden with views overlooking the green hills of Rwanda at the end of the golf course and views of the city. Kacyiru is also home to many of the high commissions and embassies in Rwanda.
The hostel has excellent transport links by foot, bus, car or motorbike. There are hotels with swimming pools nearby if you fancy relaxing in the pool. We have a number of very nice rooms, hot water for showers and internet available. We have a bar where you can buy drinks and are able to cater for meals at an affordable rate.

The Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel is a project initiated to support the work of Aegis Trust in Rwanda, the NGO and charity who established the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre in partnership with the Kigali City Council and continue to manage the centre and its programmes.
Funds generated from the hostel will support the Education Programme and the Social Programmes - supporting survivors of the genocide.

How to Get There
From the Airport: Take the only road heading towards the centre of town in Kigali, keep going on this road until the Kigali Business Centre (KBC) roundabout is reached and then turn first right on the roundabout. Follow the road down, just after passing the Top Tower Hotel on your left, turn right (this is the second right on the road after the KBC roundabout) cross the road which you come to immediately, passing a chinese restaurant on your left and an office block on your right. The Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel is directly ahead of you with a white gate.
Coming from the Centre of town: Coming from the Union Trade Centre (UTC) building in the centre of town bear right at the roundabout, taking the second exit. You will immediately begin to descend from the centre of town. Keep going until presented by traffic lights at the Kobil Petrol Station. Turn left and follow the road as it bends to the left, then the right, then left and right again. On the same road, go up the hill - you are now heading towards the Ministry of Defense. Take the next left (before reaching the Ministry of Defense, but in sight of it), this will take you to the Kigali Business Centre (KBC) roundabout. Turn left, taking the 3rd exit.
