City Managua in Nicaragua

Managua is the capital city of Nicaragua. With a bustling population of 1.4 million people, the city is always active and full of life. Tourists visiting Nicaragua must make sure they stop over at the capital city and experience its unique charms. History
Managua has witnessed many historical events; some of them take you more than 6000 years back into ancient era. The Acahualinca footprints is said to be thousands of years old, discovered in 1874 near the Managua Lake. Similarly, Managua is also quite famous for the devastating earthquake of 1972, which virtually destroyed thousands of buildings and countless lives. The aftereffects of the earthquake still resonate within the city walls of Managua. The city has bravely survived troubled wartimes and natural disasters such as volcanoes. The Laguna de Acahualinca is one such volcanic crater that attracts tourists from around the world.

Managua is a happening city with great nightlife. Tourists throng local nightclubs for music, dance and enjoyment. Getting Around
Exploring the wonderful city is quite convenient as city buses and local transport facilities are affordable and regular in service. Tourists can also hire taxis to tour the city, but is better to agree on a fixed fare, as most taxis do not have reading meters, a good guide is to keep some small notes handy to pay for your travel.

Managua city is filled with entertainment zones. Be it drink bars, discotheques, gala theatres, music halls or cinema halls- tourists can really enjoy themselves as prices for alcohol as well as cinema tickets are reasonable when compared to other western cities in US and Europe.
