Punta Del Este in Uruguay – The Flamboyant  Sea Side Resort

Punta del Este is a stylish and world class sea side resort on the southern tip of Uruguay, which draws scores of tourists all round the year. It is a peninsula that projects into the Atlantic Ocean and the best part is that its beaches can be accessed from all parts of the town. Constructed over a period of 36 years it has many sea facing rooms where fairs and exhibitions are held. The Punta del Este Lighthouse, built in 1860 to guide the ships cruising along the Atlantic is another must see. It is 45 meters in height and can be accessed by a flight of over 150 steps.

Getting Around
The guide to a comfortable travel in this city would suggest that the best way to explore the resort city of Punta del Este is by cars. Car hire options are much cheaper than taxis. There are bicycle and motorcycle hire facilities available for those who want to explore this fun spot at their own pace. A shuttle bus traverses the coast with stops at all major beach resorts.

The whole of Punta del Este is worth exploring as it ensures a bespoken holiday theme for everyone.  The shoppers would find the upscale Gorlero Avenue, quite impressive. Dotted with commercial galleries, cinemas, clubs, casinos and restaurants, this is the epicentre of entertainment in this city.  Shop for handicrafts items at the Artigas square or set out on an exciting horse ride through the hinterlands.
