SaltyCrax is ideal for the water-sports enthusiast. With a good supply of wind and waves and a variety of sailing locations, either for a complete beginner or the dedicated sailor, there is something for everyone. We are situated close to the beautiful white beaches of Blouberg and the famous Kite beach.

There is much to offer from extreme sports like Skydiving, water-skiing,

Wind surfing, kite surfing, 4 X 4 Tracks to peaceful horse rides on the beach, whale watching and hikes through the West coast nature reserve. There is a buzz of nightlife and we are only 15min from the city centre and close to the wine tasting routes.

After a long surfing day you may want to relax in our Jacuzzi, chill out on the comfortable sofas or hang around in the Zen Garden. Facilities:

Kitchen, lounge, linen, fans, heating, secure parking, braai area, safe and space for surf equipment.

Accommodation Large spacious rooms with wooden floors and built in cupboards with lots of luggage space. Own private bath, shower and toilet. Clean Linen and towels are provided.

Doubles/Triples and Family Rooms: Rooms either have only a double bed or a double bed and a single bed or a double bed and a bunk. All rooms are private and include clean linen.

Dormitories: Our Dorm sleeps 10 people. All bunks have new Ortho care mattresses and clean linen. The dorm is mixed and has 2 on-suite bathrooms.

Camping: For those of you who want to become one with the garden you are more than welcome to pitch a tent and use all the facilities in the house.

Facilities Whether you want a lazy day lying in hammocks by the Jacuzzi or have drinks around the bonfire area it's all here. Ask one of our friendly staff to book you a quiet or extreme adventure tour, at no extra cost, you can be picked up and dropped off at SaltyCrax.

Internet Facilities: Internet Café available with permanent ADSL line for fast and reliable internet access to contact those you have left behind and those you will be meeting. Costs: R6 for half an hour.

Jacuzzi: Awesome place (9 women 1 man Jacuzzi) to just relax those muscles after an adventurous day of surfing or sightseeing. Heated at night the Jacuzzi reaches temperatures of up to 40c (on request).

Communal Kitchen: Complementary tea and coffee all day everyday. Fully equipped kitchen for those who want to cook there own food.

Laundry: Washing machine and tumble drier available to use or for a nominal fee we will do it for you. (Yay)

Lounge and Tv Room: Satellite, Video machine, Flatron TV. What more do you need for those need-to-stay-in days?

Zen Garden: Grab a book and relax under the palm trees next to the pond with Lunch (the duck).

Bonfire Area: Sit around the large bonfire area, share stories with fellow travellers and cook your food the traditional South African way: on the Braai

Cancellation policy

You must give us 24 hours notice of any change and/or cancellation of your booking, otherwise you will be charged for the first night of your stay and any remaining nights will be cancelled.

From Cape Town International Airport/ Garden Route: Exit the Airport towards N2 freeway (West) towards Cape Town. Proceed along the N2 towards Cape Town for approximately 2km, keeping on the left lane. Look for N7 (Malmesbury/Grand West Casino) turn-off and follow it. Take the N7 freeway north (to the right after having exited off the N2), and proceed along the N7 north for approximately 12 km and exit left onto the M14 (Plattekloof Rd) turnoff. At the stop street turn left onto the M14. Proceed until T-Junction (traffic lights and turn right into Koeberg Road. Proceed along Koeberg road and at 2nd set of traffic lights turn left into Blaauwberg Rd (M14). Proceed down Blaauwberg rd until you reach the R27/ Otto du Plessis. (You will have 2 shopping centres on either side of you.) Go over the R27/ Otto du Plessis and when you reach the next traffic light take a right into Popam rd. Take the 3rd road left into Briza and we are nr.20 on your left. From Cape Town CBD/ V&A Waterfront: Take N1 freeway from town and exit left onto R27/ Otto du Plessis Drive. Proceed for approximately 10km until M14/Blaauwberg Rd traffic lights. Turn left into M14/Blaauwberg Rd. At next traffic light turn right into Popam rd and third left into Briza. Proceed to nr. 20 (on left) Airport transfers are available on request (R160).
