San Remo is the city Located on the Western Mediterranean Coast of Liguria in Italy. The city is famous for a number of reasons, apart from being the capital of Riviera of Flowers in Italy. History:
San Remo is named after the Romulus of Genoa, with San Roemu as his name in Ligurian. Matutia was the first Roman settlement that inhabited the region. It was in the early Middle Ages that San Remo expanded in terms of area and population. The city experienced the rule of Ventimiglia and later on went to the hands of Genoese Bishops. By the end of the 13th century, the city was sold to the Doria and De Mari families.

San Remo became an independent town in the 15th century, but constantly faced the invasions from Genoa. In the early 19th century, the city was annexed to the Kingdom of Sardinia. With the opening up of hotels and other facilities, the city emerged as a popular tourist destination.
