Southern Drakensberg –Blending Tourism and Adventure like No Other

The place of alpine landscapes, Southern Drakensberg is a small quiet city known for its natural habitat. Studded with the icing on the cake (of natural beauty), the Sani pass is the highest pass road in entire South Africa. The city boasts of being a natural paradise as if nature was biased to Southern Drakensberg. Particularly, the stretch along the Lesotho border, Giant Castle and the popular Garden Castle State Forest area are popular with tourists all year round.

History
The first white settlers come to this side of South Africa around the last phase of the 18th century (1890s approximately). Traditionally popular with naturists, hikers, rock climbers and the adventure sports fraternity, Southern Drakensberg is one place which has mixed adventure and tourism in the best way possible. A small part of the Southern Drakensberg gets covered with snow during winters and is worth a sight.

Along with many options for small excursions, the city also offers a couple of nice golf courses, bowling alleys, tennis courts, which popular with local and foreign tourists.
