Firstly avoid the touts that hang around both the bus and train stations. The taxi touts charge unreasonale rates and their vehicles are often illegal. The money changers never give a fair deal, if you ignore them they will soon go away, they are never aggresive like in some countries but may be persistent so just avoid entering into conversation with them.

From the train station:

Come out of the main entrance and cross the street towards the OMV gas station and take the side street to the right of OMV (directly opposite the station entrance). Follow the street for approximatly 150M. When you reach the corner with the bus stop on the right hand side of the road and the investment bank is to your left, cross the street. Take the small street heading uphill, the entrance to the hostel is aproximatly 10M on the right. Follow the stairs to the 3rd floor apartment 9.

International and local bus stations:

These are located several hundred meters from each other on the opposite sides of the street. We do not recommend the taxis here but they should not charge you any more than 10 Leva even in rush hour. We do however recommend the number 41 bus that runs from the main street outside the bus stations to the train station and then follow the above directions. If you just got off an international or state run national bus you need to cross the main street to catch the 41 going the correct way. If you just got off of a local bus (usually a mini bus) follow the small street to the main road about 100M and you are on the correct side of the road for the number 41.
