History:
The original inhabitants of Virgin Islands included the Ciboney and Arawaks. The sale was affected by a referendum held in 1916. The islands became part of the US in 1917 and it was named as Virgin Islands. Nonetheless the inhabitants were given citizen ship rights only in 1927.

St. John Island is the most pristine islands of the three major Virgin islands, which retains its original pristine charm and tranquility even today. A major part of this island is declared as national Park to protect its biodiversity. There are only two resorts in the whole of island and there are no hotels or construction activities to mar its natural beauty.
