Warrington- A Blossoming Town

Colourful flowers in many beautiful parks in the amazing countryside yet industrialized, Warrington city is a delight to travel to.

History:
Inhabitation in this amazing place by the river Mersey dates back to the Bronze Age. Rich in Roman and Saxon history, this was an important base in World War II. By virtue of its proximity to many main cities, it grew significantly in the retail arena.

Popular places:
Town Hall, the landmark of Warrington, is an amazing Palladian style construction built in the 18th century. This majestic architecture in the north of the town has glorious golden gates, which were supposedly built for Buckingham Palace. Bents Garden, which won the UK Award 2009 of being Best Garden Centre, homes premium quality plants and the sight of many beautiful flowers is just amazing. A visit to the garden is not complete without a meal at the award winning Fresh Approach Restaurant. Norton Priory Museum & Gardens with many Rose, fruit, and vegetable gardens is another must visit place in Warrington. Besides many varieties of fruits, it has the largest collection of Quince, fruit from the 13th century. Art lovers can visit ‘The Pyramid’ which has rich traces of history. The cycle museum displaying cycles from all over the world is another attraction.

Visitors can also catch the glimpse of ‘swinging’ bridges here, moving on to one side when a tall ship is passing by. The colourful flowers and plants all over the town in many gardens like Grappenhall Hey, Orford Park among others give a pleasing impression.

Getting around:
Warrington town is well connected to various parts of England via Rail. Buses are an easy way to go around, pick up a guide and timetable so you don’t get lost. Stroll along the countryside can be very pleasing.

Places of Entertainment:
Cheshire Villages Treasure Hunt starting at Daresbury and ending in the historic village of Knutsford is a thrilling experience. A good day out for all ages can be at Giggles Play Mill and Gulliver’s World Theme Park. Fun time having an Alpine experience at Alpine XP can be long cherished. Visitors can watch some amazing shows at Parr Hall. The Golden Square and Cockhedge shopping centres epitomize Warrington’s bustling retail business.
